Chancellor Daniel Diermeier and the Faculty Senate will celebrate faculty achievements and provide key university updates at the 2024 Spring Faculty Assembly on Thursday, April 11.ÌýÌý
Many of the university’s highest honors will be presented during the in-person gathering, which will be at 4:10 p.m. in the Student Life Center Ballroom. Additionally, faculty who have served Vanderbilt for 25 years will be recognized.Ìý

Faculty Senate Chair , associate professor of the practice and director of undergraduate studies in the Department of Special Education at Peabody College, will speak about her time as chair and join Diermeier in presenting spring awards:ÌýÌý

- Innovation in Teaching: Generative AI AwardÌý
- Innovation in Teaching: Instruction and Course Design AwardÌý
- Madison Sarratt Prize for Excellence in Undergraduate TeachingÌý
- Ellen Gregg Ingalls Award for Excellence in Classroom TeachingÌý
- Harvie Branscomb Distinguished Professor AwardÌý
- Alexander Heard Distinguished Service Professor AwardÌý
- Joe B. Wyatt Distinguished University Professor AwardÌý
- Joseph A. Johnson, Jr., Distinguished Leadership Professor AwardÌý
The assembly will conclude with an outdoor reception in the Student Life Center courtyard. Since April 11 is also Vanderbilt University Giving Day, faculty will be invited to enjoy a special cocktail or mocktail to celebrate philanthropy.ÌýÌý
